This application materialized as a born-digital artist’s book and received support from an NEA-sponsored Expanded Artists’ Books grant through The Center for Book and Paper Arts at Columbia College Chicago. A companion limited-edition clothbound artist's book is also available, emphasizing the concept of the printed page as an interactive touch-screen interface. By inserting an iPad running the Abra app into this book, users can merge the physical and digital realms for a cohesive reading experience.

Developed by Amaranth Borsuk, Kate Durbin, and Ian Hatcher, Abra offers a fusion of artistry and technology.
