Abra is an innovative poetry tool and spellbook designed for iOS devices. It offers a unique experience where users can interact with words to witness fascinating transformations. With a variety of spells at your disposal, you can alter the text and bring it to life in different ways. Personalize Abra by adding your own words and delve into the exploration of its hidden features to craft your poetic creations.

This application materialized as a born-digital artist’s book and received support from an NEA-sponsored Expanded Artists’ Books grant through The Center for Book and Paper Arts at Columbia College Chicago. A companion limited-edition clothbound artist's book is also available, emphasizing the concept of the printed page as an interactive touch-screen interface. By inserting an iPad running the Abra app into this book, users can merge the physical and digital realms for a cohesive reading experience.

Developed by Amaranth Borsuk, Kate Durbin, and Ian Hatcher, Abra offers a fusion of artistry and technology.

It is accessible for free on iPad and iPhone devices, requiring iOS 8 or later.
